Intel 'Eager For Broadcom To Fail' So it Can Buy It, Says WSJ

The Wall Street Journal’s Dana Mattioli and Dana Cimilluca this evening report that Intel (INTC) is watching Broadcom’s (AVGO) hostile bid for Qualcomm (QCOM) and hoping it fails so it can buy Broadcom, citing multiple unnamed sources. Broadcom stock spiked after the report came out, and is up $14.72, or 6%, at $268.50. Intel shares are down 49 cents at $51.80, in late trading. Qualcomm shares are 52 cents at $62.51.
